First U.S. edition published in 1895 by Dodd, Mead & Company of New York. Beautiful gilt work on front cover and spine. Olive green cloth boards show some rubbing to extremities and bumped corners. Top edge is gilt. Front and rear hinges slightly cracked. Lovely illustrations throughout by Hugh Thomson. Pages are crisp and clean.
