Roy J Snell (1878-1959) spent time in Alaska with an Eskimo tribe in the early 1900s as a Congregationalist missionary. He authored eskimo stories and mysteries for children.

1. An Eskimo Robinson Crusoe. Rare first edition published in 1917 by Little, Brown and Company. Pictorial front cover. Missing frontispiece and one illustration. Heavy rubbing, wear and stains to covers. Shelf-cocked. Ex-library. Front hinge is broken and book block is separating from covers. Toning and foxing throughout.
2. The Dinner That Was Always There. Third printing published in 1928 by Albert Whitman & Company, Chicago. Illustrated by Sarah K. Smith. Red cloth boards with pasted illustration on front cover. Wear around edges. "The" on the pasted illustration has a small piece missing. Illustrated endpapers. Marginalia on FFEP and title page. Beautiful color illustrations throughout. Binding is tight; pages are crisp and clean.
