Red cloth boards with green and gold detail on spine. Minimal wear to covers; there is a nick across the middle fleur de lys on the spine. Fantastic bookplate on FFEP. Front hinge is broken. Frontispiece illustration. Stains on a few pages; pages are otherwise crisp and clean.
Published by The Spencer Press (which was named after William Augustus Spencer, who perished in the sinking of the Titanic). I have other Spencer titles with similar bindings: de Maupassant short stories; and Ivanhoe, Vanity Fair, and Shakespeare in brown cloth.
