Detailed embossing on front and rear covers, and spine. Stains and scuffs to covers. All edges are faded gilt. Decorative endpapers look like alligator skin. Rear endpapers are faded. Several previous owner signatures on fly leaves. There are faint notes about the presidential and vice presidential nominees for the 1840 Whig party ticket on the page opposite the title page. I can't make them out completely. Foxing, toning, slight wave to pages.
