Antique George Eliot Hardcover Books Romola & Mill on the Floss Green Bindings

I love the simplicity of these bindings; the gilt is a nice contrast to the forest green cloth covers. Light rubbing to extremities; a few small flaws in the cloth. Romola is slightly shelf-cocked and the rear joint is cracked. Bindings are otherwise sound. Pages are crisp and clean. Please note, Mill on the Floss has unopened signatures. This means that the top folds need to be cut in order to read the book. The contents pages have very jagged top edges from a previous owner's cut job.
