HISTORY: From a home built in 1850 in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, a stone's throw from Bass River. With its high ceiling and ornate woodwork, it's easy to see why the house and its library was in the same family for 100 years.

DETAILS/CONDITION: Softcover wraps. Covers show wear, including: faded cloth, rubbing to extremities, sunned spine, scuffs, and stains. Lovely detail on front cover. Marginalia on FFEP. Front and rear hinges cracked. FFEP, frontispiece, title page, preface, secondary title page, and last page of adverts are detached. Appendix of adverts. Heavy toning, some pages are brittle. Pages are otherwise crisp and clean.
